Our process
How do we choose our picks?
We don’t lab-test products ourselves. Instead we synthesise current Amazon UK listings and published specs into clear, honest recommendations. We earn a commission if you buy through our links, but that never changes which products we rank.
Current UK availability
We check each pick against live Amazon UK catalogue data rather than last year’s model lists. Stock moves fast, so a listing can sell out after we publish.
Published specs
We compare manufacturer specifications so each pick is right for a real budget and use-case.
UK-specific fit
We factor in UK voltage and plug/fitting standards — details that generic global lists miss.

Picture claims on these listings, such as Quantum Dot colour, HVA panels and AI upscaling, are the brands' own descriptions, and none of the five states a brightness figure. Port details are thin: the CHiQ lists 2x HDMI 1.4 ports and a USB 2.0 port, the TCL 55V6D-UK names HDMI 2.1 without a count, and the other three do not mention ports in the features we read.
Our Take
As a default, pick the TCL 55V6D-UK: a 55 Inch 4K set with HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, HDMI 2.1 with ALLM and VRR, and a 2 year manufacturer warranty, all on the listing. For Dolby Vision, the TCL 55T6C-UK names it with three other HDR formats; for a 43-inch set with Dolby Vision and Filmmaker Mode, the Hisense 43E6STUK lists both with a 2 year manufacturer warranty.
